Our study demonstrates the diverse approaches taken by newcomer youth to navigate the school's daily activities, embodying migrant identities to attain well-being, as evidenced by their practices of distancing, adaptation, defense, and the multifaceted nature of their positions. Our analysis indicates that the process of negotiating migrant student positions in the school is fundamentally unequal. In various ways, the youths' multifaceted and often contradictory positionalities mirrored their drive for enhanced agency and improved well-being, concurrently.

This study, characterized by a qualitative and exploratory methodology, proceeded in two stages.
